window cleaning frequency
One of the more common questions that we get asked is "How frequently should I get my windows cleaned?". For many people, budget and location are going to be the biggest factors in determining your frequency. Below are our recommendations.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR ROCHESTER, NY AREA LOCATION DOES NOT OFFER SERVICE FROM
THANKSIVING-FEB 28TH.
Monthly or Bi-Monthly - This frequency is suggested for customers with houses that are right on the Bay or Lake. Our product does an excellent job at repelling rain, pollen, and dust, but unfortunately there is nothing currently on the market that repels salt from the ocean. If salt sits on windows for too long it will start to etch the glaze on the windows so it is important to wash the exterior panes pretty regularly. No Streaking offers these customers partial cleaning options and also standing appointments. Some customers will only have their windows most exposed to the water washed monthly, and the rest Bi-Monthly or Quarterly. The Interior Panes are also somewhat exposed to the salt, but should only need cleaning Bi-Monthly or Quarterly. Some might even be ok with Semi-Annual cleaning. These customers receive discounted pricing based on frequency.
Quarterly or 4 Month - Most Common - This frequency is generally recommended for customers that would like their windows spotless nearly all year long! Our customers receive 10% off up to $50 on EACH of their Quarterly/4 mo cleanings for up to $200 savings per year in NY. We recommend March, June, & September, April, July, and October, or May, August, November scheduling in NY.
We recommend the Interior and Exterior be cleaned at least twice a year and the Exterior Only once per year.
Semi-Annual (6 Month) - Generally, our cleanings will last for 4-6 months in homes in subdivisions or away from the water or farms. A Semi-Annual cleaning will help minimize scratching and etching. Windows generally will not develop hard water stains with a Semi-Annual cleaning. Our customers receive 10% up to $50 on EACH of their 6 Month cleanings for up to $100 savings per year. We recommend March/Sept, April/Oct, or May/Nov scheduling in NY. We recommend both cleanings be In/Out for best results.
Annual - This is recommended for people who are looking for basic maintenance and are more concerned with preventing etching than actually keeping the windows sparkling. An annual cleaning minimizes the deposits on the window and will reduce the chances of developing hard water stains. Customers who schedule service within 12 months of a previous window cleaning will have their price locked in for another year (up to 5 years without an increase). We recommend Summer cleanings, June-September cleanings in NY.
18 Months - 2 Years - This service is not recommended but is available. After one year, mineral deposits and other elements become embedded in the glass and begin to stain, scratch, and etch the glass. It also will degrade window mechanisms and seals. Most glazing damage at this stage is at Stage I. No Streaking is able to treat these stains for an additional charge. The average charge is $20 per glass panel for Stage I Hard Water Stain Removal ($30 for shower doors). This service is treated as an Initial Cleaning, so the additional Initial Cleaning Charge will be applied to account for the time it will take to get the windows back to a maintenance level of clean. Customers are also subject to the current year's rates.
